ESG Dashboard Research
Problem Space
Product owners consulted me for validation of new ESG company comparison dashboard to gauge comprehension and inclination for use among analysts and portfolio managers.
The image to the left shows the prototype they wanted validated, specifically citing that they wanted the users’ reception of the ‘ThemeBot’ plugin (bottom left) to be a prominent part of the feedback gained from this validation.
My Contribution
To execute this validation, I utilized this template (shown in two parts to the right and below) which outlines the high-level summary of my plan for research.
I then collaborated with the multiple Product owners on the dashboard to determine their goals, hypothesis, and success metrics for the usability test.
Overall, the product owners wanted users to be able to discern the esg score assigned to a company and be able to tell which factors influenced that score based on the metrics that the dashboard provides, most notably the ThemeBot plugin, which shows related news articles related to a company’s various ESG factors.
Main Takeaways
The discussions I facilitated revealed dissonance between the POs, who concluded that the dashboard features needed to be edited before testing. They intend to implement the research plan in the future once dashboard features are finalized.
